Offline sales orders for Business Central field reps: how syncing actually works
Field sales teams lose signal in warehouses, basements and rural routes. How Plur-e captures sales orders offline for Business Central, what is queued, and what happens when the connection returns.

Quick answer
Plur-e Mobile lets a rep create sales orders for Business Central without a connection: the order is stored on the device under "Sales Order Offline" and sent with Sync when the network returns. Business Central then receives a standard Sales Order with the rep's salesperson code. Customer and item data are cached on the device from the last sync.
"Does it work offline?" is the first question route-sales managers ask. The honest answer has two parts: what the app can do without signal, and what needs the ERP.
What works without signal
- Create sales orders — customer, addresses, delivery date, lines by search or barcode scan, location, unit of measure, quantity.
- Browse cached customers and items — data from the last synchronization.
- Queue — the order waits under Sales Order Offline with a counter on the module screen.
What needs a connection
- Sending the order to Business Central and receiving its document number.
- Availability checks against live inventory.
- Payments — card and posted-invoice payments talk to Stripe and Business Central.
What happens on Sync
Business Central validates Each order is created as a Sales Order with the
salesperson code linked to the mobile user. Prices, discounts and taxes come from Business Central setup at that moment, not from the phone.
Errors come back to the phone A blocked customer, a missing item or a closed
period returns an error on the queued order so the rep can fix and resend.
Design choices worth knowing
- Salesperson stamping — orders carry the Salespeople/Purchasers code so commission and reporting work without extra fields.
- No price caching for posting — cached prices are for the rep's reference; the ERP is the source of truth at sync time.
- One queue per device — a shared device with several users keeps each user's queue separate.
Which modules are offline-capable
Sales orders are documented as offline. Warehouse flows post through Business Central documents and need a connection to post; the per-module details are listed on each product page and being confirmed for the current version.
